Air Tank – a tank that stores air from the feed air compressor

ASME – American Society of Mechanical Engineers

Ar – Argon

Bar – one atmospheric (14.5 psi) absolute

Barg - one atmospheric (14.5 psi) gauge

Booster Compressor – increases the feed pressure of the N2 or O2 to your application

CF — cubic foot

CCF – hundred cubic feet

CE – “Conformité Européenne” (a mandatory marking for certain product groups)

CMS – carbon molecular sieve separation tank/chamber material

CO2 – carbon dioxide

CO – carbon monoxide

COTS – Commercial Off-The-Shelf

CRN – Canadian Registration Numbers

CSA – Canadian Standards Association

Dew Point – the moisture content of gases

Hz – Hertz

kW – kilo Watt

LPM – liters per minute

mA – milliamp

N2 – nitrogen

NM3H – normal meters cubed per hour (cubic meters per hour)

NM3M – normal meters cubed per minute (cubic meters per minute)

O2 – oxygen

O3 – Ozone

Ph – phase

PLC – Programmable Logic Controller

POGS – Portable Oxygen Generating System

ppm – parts per million

PSA – Pressure Swing Adsorption

PSI – pounds per square inch

PSIA – pounds per square inch absolute

PSIG – pounds per square inch gauge

Receiving Tank – (or product tank) tank that allows regulated flow of N2 or O2 to the application

SCFH – standard cubic feet per hour

SCFM – standard cubic feet per minute

Sieve Bed – the nitrogen or oxygen separation tanks where the CMS is housed

SM3H - Standard meters cubed per hour

SM3M – standard meters cubed per minute
