Newington, Conn.—November 2, 2010—On Site Gas Systems has recently achieved CE certification for its PSA Nitrogen, Oxygen and POGS (Portable Oxygen Generation Systems) product lines.
CE approval indicates that a product has met the strict health, safety and environmental requirements imposed by the European Union; it is therefore also an important precondition for marketing the systems internationally. "CE certification,” says Guy Hatch, On Site Gas Systems CEO, “is further confirmation of what our customers tell us—that we make a high quality and reliable product."
Prior to CE certification, On Site Gas Systems first achieved ISO 9001-2008 certification, a widely recognized indicator of quality management practice. “The point of ISO-9001,” says Mr. Hatch, “is to demonstrate that we know how to ensure the consistency and longevity of our quality. Even with a winning track record as the leader in PSA technology, each new system we build has to be among our best. Quality is what puts us at the head of the pack.”
The certification also presupposes the products’ compliance with UL/IEC 61010-1 and—in the case of its POGS line—On Site also met the requirements of ISO 13485:2003, a benchmark for the safety and performance of medical devices.
About PSA Nitrogen / Commercial Oxygen
PSA technology provides nitrogen or oxygen on demand, 24 hours a day. Nitrogen systems are capable of flow rates up to 75,000 SCFH and purity levels up to 99.9995%; with the addition of an optional (PFX) valve, a system can provide up to three different purity levels. Commercial Oxygen systems are capable of flow rates up to 3000 SCFH and up to 99% purity. All systems require only minimal maintenance and achieve ROI in an average of less than 18 months.
The POGS line consists of four man-portable systems that produce 93% USP breathing oxygen—the POGS 10, 33, 65 and 130. The line also features a stationary, unitized variant of the 130 system that is transportable by airlift or forklift. All systems are ruggedized to military standards and provide an unlimited supply of medical grade oxygen at any site where power and air is available. The POGS 33 is used daily in Iraq and during emergency relief efforts such as followed Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 Haitian earthquake.
