FAQs
What is the maintenance and cost of an On Site Gas system?
Filter cartridges need to be replaced according to an infrequent but essential maintenance schedule. A recommended spare parts list is supplied with every system. Annual costs vary, depending on system type, size and filter requirements. Please contact us for more details.
What is included in a system?
Our typical system is composed of a generator of nitrogen or oxygen, and a receiver tank. The complete operating system also requires a feed air compressor, a dryer and air-receiving tank. While On Site Gas does not make air compressors, dryers or tanks, we offer them as part of the system package.
What is the purpose of the receiver tank?
The receiver tank allows the gas to be delivered to your application at a steady flow rate and a consistent pressure.
Why do I need a dryer?
An air dryer assures that air is supplied at the proper dew point for the ultimate generator performance.
What is the electrical requirement?
Our generators require less then .5 amps at 110 or 220 Volts, 50 or 60 Hz, 1 Phase.
Is there an installation site I can visit?
We do have customers that you can visit. Please contact us or call 1-860-667-8888.
Do you offer installation service?
Please contact us for more details.
Do you offer startup service?
Yes, please contact us for more details.
Do you rent or lease systems?
Yes, please contact us for details. Please click here for more information on our rental programs.
What pressure do the generators produce?
We design our systems to meet your application pressure requirements. Please tell us more about your application needs.
What purities do the generators produce?
Our oxygen generators are available from 90% to 99% purity. Our nitrogen generators can provide purities from 95% to 99.9995%.
How much do they cost?
Generator costs vary. We work with you to properly size the system to meet your purity, flow rate, and pressure requirements. Once this is done, we can make a formal price quote, and calculate your payback time (which you might find to be surprisingly fast). Please tell us more about your application needs.
Can you provide bilingual assistance?
Yes, please contact us for more details.
Can I get an extra manual for the generator I own?
Yes, we can email or mail a copy to you. Simply fill out our Contact us form and include the model and serial number of the generator.
Can we increase the delivery pressure?
Since your system was custom built to meet your requirements, DO NOT INCREASE INPUT PRESSURE WITHOUT CALLING ON SITE GAS SYSTEMS, AS THIS MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE GENERATOR. Pressure can be increased in various ways. Start by contacting Customer Support (1-860-667-8888, x262) with the model number and serial number so that we can assist you.
Where can I find the serial number?
Most generators have a serial plate with a 4 digit ID located inside the cabinet or outside the cabinet on the right hand side
Can I run more than one application with the generator?
Yes, so long as the demand for the gas does not exceed the flow of the generator as built, the generator can be used for several applications. Start by contacting Customer Support.
Can I change the purity and flow?
Possibly. Since your system was custom built to meet your requirements, DO NOT CHANGE THE PURITY OR FLOW WITHOUT CALLING ON SITE GAS SYSTEMS, AS THIS MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE GENERATOR. Contact Customer Support (1-860-667-8888, x262) with the model and serial number to determine if your generator can be changed.
Can I have multiple purity levels on a generator?
Yes, we offer a PFX (purity flow exchange valve) for this purpose. The PFX allows you to pick between up to three different purity levels. Please contact our Sales Department for more information on this option.
What are the specs on the generator I have?
Contact us or call Customer Service (1-860-667-8888, x262) with the model and serial number.
Can you meet local codes for set-up and performance?
On Site Gas Systems can design a system to meet your specific requirements. It is critical that you contact us to provide all required details at the time of quotation, as codes are different in various locations.
Does On Site Gas Systems stock spare parts?
Yes. Most spare parts are in stock.
What are your payment terms?
Parts orders are via credit card or prepayment; generator systems are sold on terms. Contact our Sales Department for details.
Do I have to replace the sieve material in a PSA system?
With proper filter maintenance and input air quality, the sieve material will last the life of the system.
Is a backup system necessary?
Our systems can replace or augment a liquid system, cylinders or dewars. Please contact our Sales Department for more information.
