Mine Fires

Economical emergency nitrogen gas rental within 24 hours available for when you need N2 gas ASAP. On Site’s experienced field personnel are always ready.

For over 100 years, coal n2 mine fires have been an economic and ecological nightmare. Some active fires cost coal companies up to $2 million per day. On Site Gas provided the nitrogen gas that helped extinguish the Buchanan Mine fire in Virginia, and the Pikesville Mine fire in Kentucky. We also recently provided the nitrogen gas at the West Elk Mine fire in Colorado. These systems were at the site and operating within 24 hours of receiving the call to deploy. Insertion can be done through a borehole, or locally underground. Our N2 systems can deliver a constant large volume feed of high purity N2 with flows up to 6000 scfm and are extremely portable, with the ability to be placed at almost any mine or other location, no matter how remote.
